Brown Breaks School Pole Vault Record at Ithaca Open

Andrew Brown broke his own school pole vault record

Ithaca, N.Y. - The men's track & field team hosted the Ithaca Open Tuesday. No team scores were kept. Sophomore Andrew Brown (Monmouth Regional/Tinton Falls, N.J.) set a school record in the pole vault, clearing 4.50 meters. The mark also qualifies him for the ECAC Championships.

Senior captain James Aucoin (Nathan Hale Ray/East Haddan, Conn.) won a pair of events for the Bombers, taking first place in the triple jump (13.80 meters) and the long jump (6.82 meters). He qualified for ECACs in both events.

Freshman Kyle Devins (Ausable Valley/Peru) placed second in the triple jump with an ECAC-qualifying mark of 13.52 meters.

Two other Bombers won individual events Tuesday. Senior Kyle Miller (Liverpool/Liverpool) won the 10,000-meter run with a time of 34:59.70. Freshman Ryan Taylor (Ichabod Crane/Valatie) finished first in the javelin with an ECAC-qualifying throw of 52.69 meters.

The Bombers compete at the Penn Relays this weekend.
